The basic fundamental benefits of education is for the individual to manage life and make choices. Without the basics in school at the lower levels of education, many children will pass through school but would be found wanting in life on completion. The ability to read and understand language is key to a child’s further development. Children learn through all their senses by tasting, touching, seeing, hearing and smelling. By watching and copying people close to them, they learn language and behaviour. To develop the required manpower for Africa’s development, children must be given the right opportunities which includes reading and learning to acquire knowledge as a precursor to their development.
